The Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (DIPI FIB UI) is one of Indonesia’s key institutions in the development of library, information, and archival studies. Since the establishment of library education in 1952, the field has continued to evolve alongside advancements in knowledge, technology, and the needs of the information society. Library and information science is interdisciplinary field that connects with areas such as computer science, information systems, communication, digital humanities, and social sciences. Its focus goes beyond managing collections, addressing how information is created, organized, and used to support knowledge production and collective memory. In today’s digital era, institutions such as Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) are undergoing significant transformation through digitization and the integration of digital technologies. At the same time, developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics are reshaping how knowledge is produced and understood, highlighting the importance of knowledge organization as the foundation of the digital knowledge ecosystem. In celebration of the 74th Anniversary of DIPI FIB UI, the department proudly presents the 6th International Conference on Libraries, Archives, and Information Sciences (ICOLAIS 2026), bringing together researchers, academics, and practitioners to discuss current challenges and opportunities in the field. This year’s theme is: “Bridging AI, Cultural Heritage, and Digital Humanities.” ICOLAIS 2026 aims to foster academic exchange, strengthen international collaboration, and encourage multidisciplinary dialogue in shaping the future of knowledge systems. Objectives The 74th Anniversary of DIPI FIB UI and the 6th ICOLAIS 2026 has purposes: 1. Provide an international forum to discuss current issues and innovations in library, information, and archival studies, particularly related to AI, cultural heritage, and digital humanities. 2. Encourage the exchange of ideas, research findings, and best practices in knowledge and information management. 3. Strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among academics, researchers, and practitioners. 4. Expand international networks and promote research partnerships. 5. Reinforce the role of DIPI FIB UI at the national and international levels. 6. Familiarize university students with a culture of knowledge sharing and networking.
